The
Shores Theatre has provided entertainment to the East Side since 1935.
From War-time to Peacetime, from Bull Markets to Black Days, from
one Generation to the next, this theatre has been there to help people
Laugh and Cry, Escape and Ponder, to Learn and Live through the world
of film.
The
theatre is currently closed for reconstruction.
February 2007 Update:
Theater renovation and expansion delayed!
Following the theater expansion approvals received from the St. Clair
Shores Planning Commission and the St. Clair Shores City Council,
and following the parking variance granted by the St. Clair Shores
Zoning Board, the long-awaited theater renovation project got started.
However, in late 2006, lawsuits were filed by Travis Hamburgers and
by LaHood Properties to set aside the zoning variance. These lawsuits
were filed against the City of St. Clair Shores, and have effectively
delayed the start of the theater renovation. Until these lawsuits
are resolved the theater will remain vacant and the expansion must
be put on hold.
Shores Theater is providing its full support to the city as it defends
the parking variance, and we look forward to resuming the renovation
project at a future date.
Your continued support of the project is appreciated. Please feel
